As the war "hotted" up fewer and fewer people visited the Park and Skippers life became a very lonely one. Frequently months went past with the only visitors to the Park being Mike George or George Gibson, the two Assistant Wardens. Finally, in 1970, Skipper left his bedroom att eh end of Gead (Leask?) to live in town. Mike became Warden and initially spent considerable time re-organising the storage arrangements at the Park, errecting the concrete tables in the camp sites and generally improving the state of the buildings. 2008 With thanks to the Gibson family for donating the photos |
