Five hundred kilometres from home

Greetings from the Heart of Scouting

There is no report from Gordon Park this week as I was attending a wedding in Botswana. The wedding was in the Tuli block on Marakalalo Safari Ranch, which is located near the small settlement of Machaneng and south of the border post at Martin's Drift, some five hundred kilometres from home. The western fence-line, which is along the Great, Grey, Green, Greasy Limpopo river of the ranch forms the Botswana/ South African border. A fantastic weekend where I was pampered from the time I left home on the Friday afternoon to my return home on Sunday evening. And why did I go? Well apart for the wedding, to experience yet another area of unspoilt bushveldt.

Bulawayo BushFires
With all the bush fires going on in California & Greece on World News, nothing is mentioned about Bushfires in Bulawayo, where on Friday/Saturday a bushfire engulfed and destroyed Pete Tiplers house here in Bulawayo.
