1982-08-22 Scouts visit Britain
Bulawayo School Boy 18 year old Peter Hartley had an exciting trip to Britain where he was one of two boy scouts chosen to represent Zimbabwe at the 75th anniversary world jamboree. With him was Harare based schoolboy Kidmond Munyukwi. The two first visited Brown Sea Island, birthplace of the Scout Movement, founded by Lord Baden-Powell. They later went to Gilwell Park in London where they were left "to do our own thing" said Peter. The two returned yesterday. Peter said they had been selected by the Scout Movement headquarters in Harare on merit.
