1982-04-23 Chief Scout opens Scout Hall In the Matopos tomorrow at Gordon Park the new Deputy Minister of trade and Commerce, Mr John Landau, who is also Zimbabwe's Chief Scout, will present the first scout leaders awards conferred since independence. Mr Landau will also open a new Scout Hall in Gordon Park. Scouts and Scout Leaders have built the hall, making the brick in the Park. Inspite of this self-help, the new hall had cost about $5000, the Provincial Commissioner Mr Wilcox said yesterday. The awards to be presented tomorrow, will be two Silver Eagle badges - to Miss Naomi Connolly and Mr Wilcox; and two Medals of Merrit - to Mr Norman Scott - Warden of Gordon Park, and to Mr T.B.Sambo, Goup Scout Leader of Hwange Scout Group.
