1/1/09The Zimbabwe Centenary camp will be held over the Hero's weekend, from the 8 the to 11th of August 2009 at Gordon Park, Matopos. All Provinces in Zimbabwe are invited to send contingents of registered scouts to this important camp in the history of scouting.

  • How many Scouts can we bring?
Each Province is free to bring a maximum of 100 cubs and scouts, however this number does not include leaders.

  • Is there a Camp Fee?
Indeed, the camp fee for each participant including leaders is R50, payable to your Provincial office, who will then make a Provincial payment to Matabeleland Province. Contingents may if they so wish, pay a deposit of R20. This deposit is non-refundable and should reach Matabeleland Scout Office by the 30th of June 2009. This Camp fee does not include transport and catering. All participants will receive a camp badge.

  • When can we arrive?
Contingents are free to arrive on Thursday the 7th of August 2009. However if you wish to have transport organized for you from Bulawayo to Gordon Park. You must inform the Provincial Commissioner of Matabeleland in writing by the 15th of July 2009. State the number of passengers, times, etc. You will however be responsible for the cost.

  • How are Contingents going to Camp?
It is hoped that camping will be by contingents. Hence all Provinces are requested to bring 2 Provincial Flags, these should be the size of the normal National flag.

  • Final Payment?
All camp fees should be paid in by the 30th of July 2009.

  • Tell us about the Programme!
An exciting programme is being put up for your enjoyment, comprising of Hikes and other activities. The detailed programme will be available nearer the Camp.

  • Yes but what about Cubs?
Cubs are welcome to attend the camp, and a team is currently working on the activities to excite our young members.
